Zara stores have men’s and women’s clothing as well as children’s clothing (Zara Kids). Zara Home designs are located in European stores. Zara’s products are supplied based on consumer trends. Its highly responsive supply chain ships new products to stores twice a week. After products are designed, they take ten to fifteen days to reach the stores. All of the clothing is processed through the distribution center in Spain. New items are inspected, sorted, tagged, and loaded into trucks. In most cases, the clothing is delivered within 48 hours. Zara produces over 450 million items per year.

8. FABINDIA :

Fabindia is an Indian chain store retailing garments, women’s clothing, furnishings, fabrics, and ethnic products handmade by craftspeople across rural India.

Established in 1960 by John Bissell, an American working for the Ford Foundation, New Delhi, Fabindia started out exporting home furnishings, before stepping into domestic retail in 1976, when it opened its first retail store in Greater Kailash, New Delhi.

The chairman of the company is John’s son, William Nanda Bissell. As of July 2020, Fabindia operated 327 stores across India and 14 international stores.

In 2008, Fabindia had revenue of $65 million, a 30% increase from the previous year. Fabindia sources its product from across India through 17 community-owned companies; a certain percentage of the shares of which are held by artisans and craftspersons.

The products of Fabindia are mainly sourced from villages helping to provide and sustain rural employment in India. They are currently produced by over 40,000 artisans and craftspeople across India. The hand-crafted products also encourage good craftsmanship.

9. PEPE JEANS:

Pepe Jeans was founded in 1973 by three brothers who ran a weekend stall at Portobello Road Market in London, before expanding to a store in Carnaby Street and then into Europe in the 1980s.

In 1988, Pepe Jeans was owned by Arun, Nitin and Milan Shah.

In February 2015, Pepe Jeans and Hackett London (part of the Pepe Jeans Group) were bought by the Lebanese M1 Group, and the LVMH subsidiary, L Capital Asia.
